Option A: Make sure the event is set to “busy”
The event synced from Google Calendar will only block time slots if it’s set to “busy”. If it’s set to “Free”, people will still be able to book appointments for that time slot.
ℹ️ Note: You can edit events synced from your Google Calendar in your Google Calendar.
⚠️ Warning: Google Calendar sets your all day events as Free by default. Make sure to change these to “busy”.
- Go to your Google Calendar.
- Click on the event to edit.
- Next to the briefcase icon, change the status of the event from “Free” to “Busy”
Option B: Have you tried to turn it off and on again?
It can happen that the syncronization breaks for some reason. For example, Google revokes the access to your calendar and you need to connect it again to renew it.
- Go to your Admin page.
- Go to Google Calendar sync
- Disconnect your Google Calendar.
- Reconnect your Google Calendar.
Option C: The initial sync takes a few minutes
When you connect your Google Calendar for the first time, it can take a few minutes to sync all your events to your Minup Calendar, especially if you have many events. Please wait a little bit longer. If the issue persist after 10 minutes, contact us at hello@minup.io.
Option D: The event is NOT in your primary Google Calendar
Currently the syncronization only works with your default Google calendar (first calendar under “My calendars”). If you’ve added the event in a different calendar, it's not going to be visible in Minup. Make sure to add all your events that you want to syncronize to your default Google calendar.
ℹ️ Note: Soon, you’ll be able to syncronize more Google calendars.
Option E: You’re using other types of calendar entries than Events
Only “Event” type calendar entries are syncronized in Minup. If you’ve entered something as Focus time, Working location, or Task, they are not going to be visible in Minup. Make sure to add everything as “Events” in your Google Calendar that you want to syncronize to Minup.
